Community Based Education is a class that prepares special needs students
for daily living skills both at home and in the community. We work on skills
in the home and in the community in which they live. The students are taught
budgetting, how to shop, cooking, and social skills.
We have been in school for 108 days (not counting weekends). We have work on many new subjects and learnt new things. We love calendar time. Some of us have learned to read the time to the hour on our interactive clock. We can say and sign the Pledge of Allegiance. We are working on finding the weather app on our iPads and charting the it in our logbooks. The weather is another of our favorite part of the calendar. We are learning to do basic housekeeping in the classroom. Each day brings a new adventure for the class.
